Getting a good night's recording
Put your iPhone near your bed, plugged in, with the microphone (bottom edge) uncovered. Keep it in the same place every night, so nights can be compared fairly. Start the night from the moon button, then lock your phone. Hushbean keeps listening with the screen locked; closing the app from the app switcher stops it. Record at least an hour; recordings shorter than an hour are not kept. Nights of about three and a half hours or more count towards your weekly reports.
Is my audio uploaded?
No. Recording and analysis happen on your iPhone. Once a night is analysed, the full recording is deleted and only short clips are kept.
How much space does it use?
About 8 MB a night. Open Me → Storage to check, or to delete nights.
Why does it ask about coffee, drinks, stress and meals?
Grinding changes a lot from night to night on its own. Over a few weeks, Hushbean compares nights with and without each habit to show which ones go along with more or less grinding. Your answers stay on your iPhone.
When do I get a report?
At the end of each week with at least four nights that count. Habit comparisons need at least twelve nights.
Can it tell me if I have bruxism or sleep apnea?
No. Hushbean is a wellness tool, not a medical device; it does not diagnose or treat any condition. If you have jaw pain, headaches or worn teeth, talk to a dentist or doctor.
What is "Share usage data"?
If you say yes, Hushbean sends which screens and buttons get used, with a random ID made on your iPhone, so we can fix problems and improve the app. Never your sounds, your nights, your answers or your location. It is off unless you turn it on; change it any time in Me → Privacy.
How do I delete my data?
Delete a night from Me → Storage, or delete the app to remove everything it stored. To have usage data that was already sent deleted, email us.
